Ingredients

  • 300g fresh turmeric root
  • 100g fresh ginger root
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by peeling and chopping the turmeric root and ginger.
  2. In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the turmeric and ginger, cooking for another 2 minutes.
