Ingredients

  • 100g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 200g smoked sausage, sliced
  • 150g okra, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 stalk of celery, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 liter chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cajun seasoning to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by making the roux: In a large pot, combine equal parts flour and oil over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture turns a deep brown color.
  2. Once the roux is ready, add diced sausage to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
